Reactive Power Compensator
Reactive Power Compensator is a series of devices used to compensate for inductive or capacitive reactive power in power distribution systems.

DESTINATION
The solution works by connecting a three-phase compensating shunt reactor in parallel to the power supply network of the site. On the basis of measurements made on the site and determining the amount of reactive power to be compensated, the appropriate choke is selected. There are also solutions with a regulator enabling automatic change of the shunt reactor's reactive power value. Depending on the type of choke used, the degree of compensation may range from 0.15 to 10kVar (up to 2.4kVar for the housing; 19” 3U
BENEFITS
- Reduction of costs related to providing capacitive or inductive reactive energy to the power system
- Reduction of the fee for capacitive or inductive reactive energy charged so far on invoices by the electricity supplier
AUTO ADJUST COSφ
Capacitive reactive power compensators can be equipped with an automatic cos φ control system. The electronic power factor controller automatically adjusts the power of the connected chokes to the needs of the network (so as to obtain a constant value of cos φ). It works by connecting or disconnecting chokes with a specific rated power. The power factor controller compares the current value of the power factor cos φ with the set value and, depending on the needs, controls the number of switched stages.
REACTIVE POWER C TYPES AND CASING TYPES
Depending on the type of power to be compensated and the type of application: indoor / outdoor, power compensators can be supplied in the following types of enclosures.
